The Journey to now...

Throughout my entire life, I have always tried living for the moment, no matter what happens, something always drives me to do something else. I looked back at some of the things I have been privileged to do, and took some snapshots from videos that I have been apart of, and I think back and if you would have asked me last year at this time, if I would be doing what I am doing, I would honestly think you were crazy. I didn't have too much experience at this time last year, but ever since then, I have been non-stop just go go go getting experience anywhere and everywhere I can.

Lets start with what I started doing last semester that has probably grown and started my "on camera career" and it made me the known person I am now. I worked with Around Liberty in 90 Seconds and after a couple weeks of trying out different hosts, the class and the professor in charge decided to make Olivia Willats and myself the hosts for the weekly segment. I was always the person that said, "if I get on 90 seconds just once before I graduate, I will be able to graduate a happy man." And here I was hosting it every single week, it was like almost too good to be true, and ever since then, I have been called "Mr. 90 Seconds" and things like that, it honestly was one of the biggest and best experiences of my life! Here is probably one of my favorite pictures that my co-host and I took during a dodge ball tournament...

Then this summer happened and I was able to get an unbelievable internship at TV Guide, I didn't get as much on camera experience at TV Guide, but the experience I did get was amazing, a couple weeks before the end of summer one of the senior editors came up to me, and asked if I wanted to do an on camera interview with the Host of a Spike TV show, "Bar Rescue". I jumped at the opportunity and got some of the best experience that I got all summer, and being in the camera shot for TV Guide, and having it go online for everyone to see was amazing...

This now brings me to the present, and what I am currently doing, I am one of the sports reporters for Option LU, and every other week I get to interview a different athlete for whichever sport we happen to cover for that episode, I have interviewed Chris Phillips from the Liberty Soccer Team, Cameron Richard of the Women's Tennis Team, Courtney Cooper of the Women's Volleyball Team, Jackson Kuhn of the Men's Hockey Team, and most recently Chris Summers of the Liberty Football Team. I am so blessed that I get the privilege to interview such great athletes, and some of the best athletes in the country at their respected sports. I have never been so happy to call Liberty University my home and my school, and getting to do it for such a great program such as Option LU, just makes everything better. Here is a snapshot of the Chris Summers interview that I conducted yesterday evening.

As you can see, I have been so fortunate to be put in a place where I can make my dreams become realities, and go after something that I have had a passion for for so long. Like I said, if you would have told me last semester at this time that I would have the chance to do what I have so far in my life I would have thought you were crazy. This is only the beginning to something special and something big in my life! Thank you to everyone who has been apart of what is going to be the best life I can live!

Another Dream completed...

Today was a busy but a very great day! Another one of my dreams that I had always dreamed of came true, as most of you know I am one of the sports hosts for a TV show called Option LU, and every other week I get to interview an athlete for the certain sport that we cover, and this weeks sport is Football. Liberty's football team is one of the best teams in the country in NCAA Division 1-AA. Today was a day I will never forget, I was able to interview one of the best players in the country.

I had the great privilege to interview Chris Summers who is an All American wide-receiver and the all time TD reception record holder in Liberty football history. They are saying that he could possibly be drafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. I have interviewed some big names in the sports world, I would say this interview would be 2nd biggest athlete to the David Wright Interview I did last January. It was always a dream of mine to interview big name athletes, but to interview one of the best wide receivers in the country in FCS and FBS, was a true honor. I have been able to interview some amazing athletes since I have gotten into this field and I wouldn't take any of them back, and I know these won't be the last ones that I do.

If I keep dreaming and doing something about my dreams every single day, then there is not stopping me. I wear a wrist band everyday that on it, it says "praydreamgo", and I think that it is going to be something I go off of for a long time. Ever since this summer I can honestly say that going after my dreams is easier than ever. Like I have said, I am going after my dreams one day and one dream at a time, no matter how impossible that dream may sound, I will always do that! As dreamers don't forget to go after what may seem like the impossible! Because unless you try it, you have no knowledge of what is impossible and what is not...

A new week... Inspirations in my life

Looking back at my life, and the people who have inspired me the most, I have been so blessed to have so many people in my life, a father who has provided me with a Godly example and someone who has always been there for me no matter what was going on. Best friends that I can just pick up where we left off anytime I go back to school and then come back and just be able to catch up, and that are always there for me. And looking back at before college and even now, someone I look to, an old Young Life leader that was like a brother to me, and his family who I felt like they were apart of my own. I am so blessed to have them all in my life, and it doesn't stop with just them.

I have been saying for a while, that you can't inspire people unless you have been inspired yourself, all the greats were inspired by someone, whether it is a family member, a friend, a teach, a schoolmate of yours, or just someone who says something that gets you thinking. Being inspired comes in all shapes and sizes, it only takes a few moments to be inspired. You can see someone doing something polite for someone else, and be inspired to do something nice for someone else, which can start a chain reaction all over the world. I am sure you have been inspired everyday of your life, whether you realize it or not, there is always someone watching what you are doing. You may not know who that person is, or what that person may do because of what you inspired them to do.

I have told you that I love dreaming, and I love to see peoples dreams come true no matter how unreachable they may seem, you can never give up on what you want to do. It is apart of living, if you don't have goals or ambitions to live for what then is the real point of living? I never really thought too much about really writing my goals down and saying to myself, "in 5 years, I am going to be doing this... or in 10 years I want to be doing this..." If you write them down and stick them somewhere you will constantly be reminded of the dreams and ambitions you have, and when it comes that time you can do whatever you need to in order to get them completed. It sounds cliche but the phrase, "Go Big or Go Home!" is right on the money! Never give up on what your dreams are, because they are the things that will drive you every single day!

Big things are happening

When I think about my life, and what I have accomplished throughout the past few years of college, I am still in amazement that this is my final year of college, where did the time go, what happened to the last 3 years of my life? The things I have gotten to experience and the friends that I have met have just been amazing, and I wouldn't want anything more than what I have been privileged to be apart of since coming to Liberty.

Today was another great day, and it may seem like everyday is an amazingly great day for me, and the fact of the matter is, because it really is. I have been so blessed to have one of the best years of my life be my last year in college. A lot of people are so stressed about projects and assignments that are coming up and that they will have to finish, and I am that person that is like, "Let's Do THIS!!!" with a smile on my face and with a great attitude, I think that is another reason why I love to inspire people, every one of us comes into contact with at least 100 people over the course of the entire day, and just to always be in a good mood, sets you apart from some people that may wonder, "Why is that guy always in a good mood?" I started my day off with a Devotional this morning I am working on going through Mark and Proverbs, a study that I was given and worked through with Young Life the summer after my junior year of High School, it was in my Bible, and I figured it was a great way to start back up.

I am constantly inspired by numerous people every single day, whether it be my family and friends from back home or my friends and my Liberty University family, I don't usually leave campus, without seeing at least one person who has inspired me throughout my years here at Liberty. Even this year so far, so many people have been huge inspirations in my life, and I couldn't have the semester I am having without them. Some big things are going to be happening over the next month or so, and even in the next few days, some opportunities I am going to be getting may be the start to something big, but no matter what, I will never forget that if you want to inspire, you have to have been inspired...

Keep Dreaming... helps to inspire

I would have never thought that all this would have happened to me, getting to interview some of the best athletes at Liberty University for Option LU this semester. It really made me think about the dreams that I had this summer, and how if you just keep believing that they can happen, there is really no stopping you. I had so many occurrences this summer where I had said this is what I was going to do, and it actually came true. One of the biggest things I have learned is that no matter how impossible it may seem, don't give up, because the next thing you know it is actually happening. The biggest example from this summer was when I got to interview Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue, I had told my manager that I had wanted to do an on camera interview when I got there this summer, but I didn't really think there would come a time for me to actually do it. A couple weeks before the end of the summer they tell me they would like me to do this interview and it was amazing.

I thought about this over and over tonight while I was trying to figure out what I was going to say in my blog, and I think its really simple, the more you dream and the more you go after your dreams the easier it will be to help inspire others. If they see you going after what you love, they will be more likely to go after what they want to do, because they feel like someone is on the journey with them. I really think that is why I decided to dream so big is because I saw other around me dreaming just as big, and I didn't feel like I was doing this alone. It was one of the biggest inspirations to me, because I was surrounded by dreamers, and it made it so much easier.

I have to tell everyone that I found out last night that another one of my dreams is going to be coming true this weekend. I am going to be doing "On the Ice" reporting during the Liberty Men's Hockey game on Saturday during the game, and this could be a huge break for me. I have always wanted to do something like this, when I think of on ice reporting the first name that pops in my mind is Pierre McGuire who does the reporting during the NBC and Versus games on TV, and this game on Saturday is going to be LIVE on TV. I will definitely be posting the link where you can watch the game online, and actually see a big dream come true.

I want to leave you with one final thing, you are never too old or too young to start dreaming. You can dream about doing anything, and go after that, that's what I ended up doing this summer, and my dreams came true. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way, and I really believe that because I am continuing to dream bigger and bigger every single day, people will hopefully look at me and be inspired to go after their dreams, no matter how impossible they may sound. If you don't try, you will never know if it was reachable or not. It's your turn, go out and do something about the opportunities you are given now!

Inspiring Moments

Every single day, I am sure you think to yourself you know what I want to inspire someone today, but what does it really mean to be an inspiration? In order for you to inspire someone, you must be inspired yourself. I am sure you can think of many people throughout your life who have either inspired you to do something, or inspire you to go after a goal or a dream. I have been blessed to have so many people like that throughout my life. No matter what you do, whether it is a positive inspiration or a negative, people are always watching, and will notice the simple things in life.

Thinking about inspiring people and what truly inspires me, I think about what happens and what I am around every single day of my life. Whether it is a tweet, a Facebook status, or an email you are around technology every single day. I emailed someone who may have been one of the most influential and I couldn't have accomplished what I did this summer if it wasn't for her. Ellen Pyzik was my Dream Careers internship coordinator who helped me through the entire process from start to finish, and really never stopped or gave up on me even when times were getting tough. She helped me find the internship at TV Guide and through the whole process, and if it wasn't for her hard work and what she meant to me, this summer would have never happened.

Every email I received from her ended with a quote from Dr. Seuss, "Today is your day. Your mountain is waiting, so... get on your way!" Every time I read this it truly does inspire me to just live for today, and just go get it! Go for the prize and never give up on anything. I leave you with this because I really think if you just take what Dr. Seuss says and remember that the day you are living is YOURS!!! Go get on your way to inspiring others so you can be a light to the world! I thank the Lord everyday for the people who inspire me, and pray that I can be someone to spread the next generation of Inspirational people!!!

I'm Back... My goal for the next year...

I have been thinking a lot about the past 5 months, and how much my life has changed by just spending a couple months in a city like New York City. I have always wanted to live in a big city like that, and I really truly believe that is where the Lord is calling me after I graduate. From some of the most amazing friends I made this summer, to the connections I will never lose, this summer was by far the best summer of my life. God put me in situations to test me, and he put me in a place like New York City to see if I could truly handle the big city! He has shown me so much over the past 5 months, and I cannot wait to see what he does in the months to come.

I am reminded almost everyday by different dreamers and friends that I made this summer to never give up on your dreams no matter the situation and no matter what happens. I have taken that in full force, I love dreaming and I have based my life around the fact that if God puts me in the situation to dream big, then I am going to dream bigger than anyone has ever dreamed before. I never thought that I would have this type of outlook on life, and that I would think this way, but after this summer I don't believe I can think anyway else. I wake up excited about the day ahead of me, and pumped about what God is about to teach me every single day.

I have decided to challenge myself over the next year, to work on inspiring at least one person per week. No matter what happens, I am going to do my best to inspire at least one person every week for the next year! I have been given this challenge with a continuation of what I learned this summer from my Dream Careers Summer Staff, always go after your dreams, and do your best to inspire someone! They were the main inspirations for myself as well as many others this summer, and it is my turn to be an inspiration to the world!

I also challenge you throughout this journey with me, to go after your dreams no matter what situations you are put in, never give up! DREAM ON!!!!
