Live, Dream, Do

Over the past week, I have tried to come up with a slogan that I am going to live by for the rest of my life, I have a life verse, I have people who have and always influence my life, but a slogan sticks with you, and it is something people can identify you by. When you look at trying to personally brand yourself, you have to do something and get something that sets you apart from everyone else. Some of the most famous brands have famous slogans... These are just a few to give you some examples. Probably when it comes to sports the most popular one is Nike: "Just Do It", when you think Nike, or when you see that swoosh, you think of that slogan. I wear a wristband everyday that says "Praydreamgo" and I look at it every single day and it reminds me to never forget what got me here in the first place.

I came up with the slogan "Live, Dream, Do" because it really puts what I am trying to do into perspective, first you have to live your life to the fullest, and be aware of what is around you, then you have to dream, if you don't dream how do you know what you can achieve, what is impossible. Someone once said, "how do you know its impossible, if you never try?" You have to dream big, and the last part, "DO" you have to go do something about it, there is no point in Dreaming if you aren't going to go after your dreams in the process. You must do something about it! You go through life everyday, wondering different things, if this would have happened I could be here, or what if I did this... You have to stop thinking about the past, and live for the moment. You aren't going to get that time back that you could have done something about it, so you must go after what you want now.

I challenge you to really "live, dream, do" everyday of your life. Do not think about what could have happened, but focus on what is going to happen. Write your goals and dreams down on an index card and put it somewhere you will always have, it not only keeps you accountable, but it keeps those dreams in the mix of your life, so you can live for those dreams that you want to happen. If you don't write your dreams and goals down then do you really know what you want to do in the future?

"LIVE your life, DREAM big, and DO something about those dreams"

What a weekend

When I look back at the weekend that just occurred I am constantly reminded about how blessed I am, and the opportunities that I have been given at a great college such as Liberty University. This weekend marked one of the best weekends I have had here at Liberty and capped off one of the best weeks I have experienced as well. One of the things I have been really going for is dreaming bigger than ever and trying to inspire others to go after their dreams.

Rett and I during Friday's Broadcast...
Friday and Saturday were special nights for me when it comes to what I love doing and that is broadcasting hockey, I did color commentary for the Liberty Hockey games this weekend and they were probably two of the best games I have ever commentated. My dad was in town for the Friday game, and he was able to watch the game up in the press box with me while we broadcasted the game, it was a special moment just to have my dad, one of my biggest supporters sitting next to me while I did something I love. I can't begin to tell you how amazing the broadcasts went and I just signed up for doing color on December 9th when the Flames take on the #1 team in the country Penn State. I always tell myself that I am going to be doing big things in my life, but never could have imagined the things that have actually happened in the past 11 months of my life.

Friday and Saturday were a great start to the weekend, and today was nothing less than great as well. I headed out to Roanoke to visit some great friends of mine the Oleski's and went to church with them as well as had lunch. It was a great day of just hanging out with friends and a family that has been a home away from home while I have been at school for the past couple of years. And just being able to go up there for the day, and escape from Lynchburg just for a little while, was a great way to spend the day.

Everyday I wake up, some days earlier than others, and I am a huge twitter fanatic nowadays, I get a tweet everyday from Kristin DelMuto, someone who was in NYC with me this summer. She is one of the biggest dreamers I know, and its awesome to see her passion for the same field that I do. Getting her tweets every morning just reminds me that I am not alone in this dreaming world, the more I dream, the more I can inspire others to dream more and more. I never thought that I would have such an impact on someone, and that someone who has become one of my good friends over the past couple months. It doesn't matter what field you are in, or what you dream may be, no matter if you are in another country or another state, if you have a dream and are determined to go after it, then no one can stop you! I was blessed this summer with numerous people who were right by my side encouraging me to dream bigger and bigger everyday. It's my turn to return that favor to anyone out there who has any doubts! Become a dreamer and jump on the train, it will take you somewhere you will never want to leave!

Bringing it back

Nothing has been easier over the past couple days then to just sit back and watch people as they live out there life. Especially at a place like Liberty University where I get to see people live for Christ and walk in the way of the Lord every single day, I am so blessed to see the way others live and feed off of that. I tell everyone that I see all the time that I am completely and totally pumped about life, and why not, I have a heavenly father who loves me, and I am in a major that I love and that I can make a difference in this world.  There isn't a day that goes by in my life, that I don't think about the opportunities I have been given.

I have expressed some of the things I have had the fortunate honor of being apart of, such as Around Liberty in 90 Seconds, the Hockey TV Broadcasts, an intern at TV Guide, and recently a sports host for Option LU. I didn't know all this was possible but with the constant encouragement of my classmates it makes it so much easier. I think there were a few people that really meant a lot to me last semester when it came to Around Liberty in 90 Seconds and what really got me started last semester, now these aren't the only people that had a huge impact, but these were a few of the key players that inspired me to really do pretty great things and that has carried momentum into what I am doing now.

The first person would have to be Professor Kirk, he was the instructor of Around Liberty in 90 Seconds last semester and let me do the hosting with Olivia, and I really think that was one of the biggest confidence boosters in my life, when it comes to what I had been doing, before the semester I hadn't done too much, so him having confidence in me was a huge help. The second person was Jared Bredeson, now Jared was someone I got to know really well through hockey and also through 90 seconds, he was one of our main shooters for stand-ups and someone that I just really connected with, and he was probably the best camera man that I worked with last semester especially during 90 seconds. Last but certainly not least Olivia Willats, Olivia as many of you know that watched any of 90 Seconds last semester was my co-host and someone I got to know really well and just was one of the biggest blessings in my life last semester. A lot of people when you work with a co-host that you have never met before it is hard to get in a groove and for Olivia and I it wasn't hard at all. We didn't really know each other before last semester and by the end we became best friends. It has been a complete honor to work with all of the people who were involved in that practicum last semester and will truly be one of the most memorable semesters of my life!

I only named a few but, there have been tons of my classmates and professors over the years that have constantly encouraged me to do my best and really go after what I love doing. Those are the people that keep me going everyday of my life, along with the knowledge that God is always there with me. Through this blog, I will be mentioning different people who have inspired me throughout this past year, and how you can learn to live your life, and just dream bigger and better than ever! I hope you take this journey to be inspired, no matter the events that are going on throughout your day, you can always be in a good mood knowing what is ahead of you!
