A Mile a Day - Day 30 Recap

Day 30 (Today's pose inspired by Shawn Michaels)

What a time the past 30 days have been. If I would have told you 31 Days ago that I was going to run every single day for the next 30, I would have told you, "you were crazy." But here I sit, just completing my 30th run over the past 30 days, compiling up a little over than 30 miles total, close to 65,000 steps total over the past month. I started this challenge to really see if I could just do it, I figured once I'm done Day 30, I'll run every once in a while, but I'll take a little time off and see what happens from there. But something strange has happened since day one. I don't know if you would call it a love for running, or if I can just handle the running a little more than I used to be able to, but non the less, the journey doesn't stop at Day 30. As of right now, my journey has no end date, I will keep running. Not only will I keep running, I will add a quarter of a mile every 15 days, until I feel like I physically can't go a certain distance multiple days in a row.

Is it going to be easy? Probably not. Am I going to enjoy it even more? I can guarantee you on most days, no. But I am going to continue to push through whatever pain may be there, push through each distance each day. Not because I love running, but I love tracking my journey and hearing people come back to me and tell me I've inspired them to start running everyday. That hits home with me so hard, because I used to be the person who never wanted to run, and now I'm the person who is inspiring people to run. That very thing has motivated me to keep going, past 30 days until I don't want to anymore. I've developed a habit and some habits are tough to break, but I hope this one sticks around for a while.

Another reason I wanted to track my progress and my journey is so I could keep myself accountable as I start reading through the Bible. Reading God's Word is something that I have wanted to work on for so long and sometimes if you don't journal about it or blog about what you read or something you read, then it can be forgotten so quickly. I feel like my relationship with Christ has grown just over the past month and I am excited to continue sharing my verses of the day each day that I run.

What did I listen to today? Pandora Thumbprint Radio

Verse of the Day: Mark 2:15-17, "While He was reclining at the table in Levi's house, many tax collectors and sinners were also guests with Jesus and His disciples, because there were many who were following Him. When the scribes of the Pharisees saw that He was eating with sinners and tax collectors, they asked His disciples, 'Why does He eat with tax collectors and sinners?' When Jesus heard this, He told them, 'Those who are well don't need a doctor, but the sick do need one. I didn't come to call the righteous, but sinners.'"

It's been a fun journey to share with all of you who read this and check in daily, the journey continues tomorrow with 1.25 miles for the next 15 days. If you want to start running a mile a day, and you have questions, feel free to reach out to me, comment below, shoot me a message on Instagram (@Big_Red_Express) or anywhere else. I would love to help you out. Thanks everyone and we'll do it again tomorrow!
