Day 42 - See you around the neighborhood

Well, I'm back from a fun and exhausting weekend in Richmond. I was up there for SuperFit Richmond which is a CrossFit event that happened to be two days this year, so it was definitely a lot of fun and not as hot as it was last year! My plan was to wake up around six and go for a run because the forecast last night before I fell asleep said that rain was expected at about eight in the morning. So I thought I would get a run in before the rain and be able to take a nap at some point today (which still may happen) so I'm rested for work tonight. Well I went to bed and woke up around four for no apparent reason, I couldn't get back to sleep so I woke up around 5:15 and figured I might as well get my run over with. So I went outside and for the first time in the past 42 days, I actually tracked my time/pace during the run. You may be asking me, "why in the heck haven't you been doing that the whole time?" Well here's the reason why: I've always been a very competitive person, not just with other but with myself as well. If I don't do something as well as I want, I get upset just like anyone else probably would. If I have a set time I want to run and I go out and I don't do that well, then I get upset and this whole running thing, doesn't become a challenge, it becomes a competition and I don't want that. But today was a little different, I went out and wanted to see where I was and how today's run was going to go and I was pleasantly surprised!

What did I listen to? Jock Jams Radio

Verse of the day (From my Devo): Psalm 25:4-5, "Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; on You I wait all the day."

Thanks for checking in once again. If you'd like to subscribe to the blog or donate to my new running shoe fund, you can do so on the right of the page. Thank you very much! Talk to you tomorrow!
