Day 43 - Rule 1: Never Sleep In

Today's run happened around 8 o'clock this morning. I work til midnight on Monday nights so I don't get home till late, so I figured I would sleep in a little bit and wake up and run. Well it was a really bad idea! It felt like all the humidity was just a big ball that trapped me throughout the entire 1.25 miles. My legs felt like bricks, my breathing was off, and I'm pretty sure I sweat more this morning than I have in the past week combined! Right as I walked out the door I could tell that today's run was going to be a rough one. Maybe that's where I went wrong right from the start, I've heard the statement that running or working out in general is 70% mental and the rest physical. So I wonder if I walked outside and told myself, "Today is going to be the BEST RUN EVER!" if it truly would have been the best run ever. I guess we will never find out. Nonetheless, I'm glad I woke up and ran this morning when I did, because I can guarantee I would not have felt like doing anything later on as the day rolled on. On Friday, I up the distance. I've gotta make the next few runs good ones!

What did I listen to? A lot of Queen songs - On Pandora

Verse of the day: Mark 15:38-39, "Then the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom. When the centurion, who was standing opposite Him, saw the way He breathed His last, he said, 'This man really was God's Son!'"

Thank you all for checking in once again on an extremely difficult run. The humidity was completely against me, but that is making me push harder than I ever thought I could before.
